Glenisk Baby Bio Organic Yogurts – Product Review

When we started weaning Zac and Sam we tried to make purees and dinners ourselves
where possible so we knew exactly what they were eating and where it came from. As
they progressed through their weaning journey it was really important to introduce
new flavours and textures to help build a healthy lifelong relationship with food.

If out and about we did use pouches but were always sure to check their sugar content
and to see if they were organic to avoid any nasty added extras. Too much sugar
introduced too early can condition a baby’s palate towards a preference for sweet
foods as they grow which is why when it came to adding yogurt to their diet as a
snack or dessert we chose Glenisk. Their new range of baby yogurts contain
absolutely no added sugars, just organic milk, fruit and cultures. After all, as Glenisk
say ‘We believe our babies are #sweetenough’. Not only do they have no sugar but
they are packed with calcium, protein and nutrients making them a great first weaning
food for babies aged 6 months plus.

We had both used Glenisk before they launched their no-added sugar baby range as
they are best known for their award winning natural yogurts. They are also an Irish
company based just outside Tullamore and have recently celebrated 30 years of their
family business.

We were sent the most wonderful goodie bag by Glenisk of their new baby range in
the four flavours, Natural, Apple and Pear, Banana and Peach and Strawberry and
Apple. Zac and Sam have both been devouring these at snack time or as a dessert. It is
always rewarding when they eat up so you know they are not going hungry but even
more comforting knowing that you are giving them the best start supporting normal
growth and the development of bones.

Sam’s favourite has to be the Banana and Peach (which is typical really as I am not
fond of bananas, the things we do for the ones we love, eh?!).

Zac is more a strawberry and apple man but they will eat them all. What is great about
the plain natural one is that you can use it in recipes too (see more on the Glenisk
website HERE).

There is no denying yogurt in particular can be messy but really that is what weaning
is all about. The main objective is to get them eating and ideally eating healthy
options. Glenisk Organic Baby Bio Yogurt pots are just the right size and a really
good consistency to introduce early in your weaning journey. Even if your little one
only takes half at lunch and half at dinner you can pop it back in the fridge for later.
At least it’s peace of mind they are getting all the goodness they need with no added
nasties.
